Can age spots be prevented?
I read somewhere that age spots are more likely to appear after prolonged exposure to the sun. Is that the main cause? Because since I got back from my summer vacation and I am worried that age spots are going to appear on my skin.
What are the best ways to protect your skin from age spots?
A: Age spots are indeed caused by excessive sun exposure, but if you use protective sunscreen all the time, whenever you expose yourself to the harmful UV rays, the risks of their appearance is minimal. But they could also appear due to the natural ageing process in people who passed their 40’s or they can extend due to pollutants or a smoking habit.
There are certain ways to prevent age spots from appearing on your skin and that would imply healthy diets, drinking a lot of water, exercising on a daily basis, keeping your skin moisturized, so basically everything that keeps you healthy and in shape. These factors play a very important role in our lives, besides preventing the appearance of age spots. The best solution however to prevent age spots is high SPF sunscreen, which should be applied whenever you leave the house, especially during peak hours. A lower SPF sunscreen should also be used even during winter
